Rainbow Six Siege X Showcase Reveals Major Updates
Ubisoft has unveiled Siege X, the next evolution of Rainbow Six Siege, launching June 10. This update introduces Dual Front, a 6v6 mode, major visual and gameplay upgrades, and free access for new players. Dual Front: A New 6v6 Mode Set on the new District map, Dual Front has teams attacking enemy sectors while defending their own. Two objective points are live at all times, requiring players to plant sabotage kits and protect their base. For the first time, attackers and defenders can be on the same team, enabling unique tactical plays. Respawning allows more strategic adjustments mid-match.
The closed beta runs until March 19 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Siege X Overhauls Core Gameplay Modernized Maps: Enhanced lighting, textures, and destructibility. New Tactical Elements: Exploding gas pipes, smoke-emitting fire extinguishers, and breakable metal detectors. Rappel Improvements: Smoother motion and new traversal mechanics. Audio Overhaul: Improved intel gathering via sound. Communication Upgrades: Enhanced ping system and weapon inspection. Ranked System Revamp: Faster bans and strategic mid-match adaptations. R6 ShieldGuard & Free-to-Play Shift Ubisoft unifies anti-cheat efforts under R6 ShieldGuard, reducing cheat reports by 30%. Siege will be free-to-play starting Season 2, Year 10, with 10 Operators available at launch.
