Nerf Time

Major Changes Incoming

The first major update for Path of Exile 2 early access, Dawn of the Hunt, has been officially revealed. In a Q&A session hosted by ZiggyD Gaming, game director Jonathan Rogers shared new details about what’s coming in this massive patch.

The update introduces the new Huntress class, alongside new Ascendancy classes for Warrior and Witch. Over 100 new Support Gems, fresh maps, and new game mechanics are also part of the update. Rogers confirmed that powerful builds will be nerfed, forcing players to adapt, while new players will benefit from improved onboarding and adjustments to high-level dungeon difficulty.

New Ascendancies

  • Tactician (Mercenary): Summon multiple minions and ballistae.

  • Smith of Kitava (Warrior): Enhance weapons dynamically during combat.

  • Lich (Witch): Control an undead army while becoming undead yourself.

Other Major Features

  • New Endgame Optimizations – Smoother progression for new and veteran players.

  • Dungeon Revamps – High-level dungeons now allow retries after death.

  • Item Crafting Improvements – More deterministic crafting mechanics.

  • New Abilities & Mechanics – Including a rideable companion

Grinding Gear Games recommends starting fresh when the update drops, as existing builds may become obsolete due to the balance changes.
