After more than a decade of silence, the spirit of Battlefield Heroes is back—and it’s wearing a new uniform. Heroes of Valor, from developer Fancy Cat Interactive and publisher Iceberg Interactive, is stepping in as the spiritual successor to the beloved cartoony WW2 shooter.
Iceberg calls it “the Battlefield Heroes you can actually play,” and honestly, that’s not just PR talk. The game clearly channels the same energy: colorful third-person combat, four unique hero classes, tanks, planes, motorcycles, and a whole lot of chaos.
A free playtest is live right now on Steam, with early access “coming soon.” The devs plan to keep it in early access for about a year.
What sets Heroes of Valor apart? Full-on customization—adjust the time of day, game modes, and battle rules. Plus, it’s got bots that don’t just stand there—they flank, fly, and actually fight smart.
Fancy Cat says they waited years for someone to bring Battlefield Heroes back. No one did, so they built their own version. And players seem ready—Steam forums are already filling up with nostalgia and hype.
Even if Battlefield Heroes wasn’t on your radar back in the day, for a lot of folks it was the go-to. Heroes of Valor looks set to give that crowd something real to come back to.
