Dune: Awakening Gets New Release Date After Beta Revisions

Delayed for Final Polish

June 10 is the New Date, with Early Access Beginning on June 5

Funcom’s massive open-world survival MMO, Dune: Awakening, has officially been delayed from May 20 to June 10, 2025 for PC. The short delay follows the game’s closed beta phase, with the developers citing the need to better implement valuable player feedback.

According to Funcom, the three-week extension will be used to fine-tune the game’s technical systems and polish the overall player experience. Those who pre-ordered the Deluxe or Ultimate Editions will still gain early access on June 5.Set in an alternate version of the Dune universe—one where Paul Atreides was never born—the game puts players in the role of a Bene Gesserit agent sent to Arrakis. Their mission? Uncover the mystery of the lost Fremen and survive the deadly desert.

Powered by Unreal Engine 5 and featuring DLSS 3 support, Dune: Awakening combines massive-scale multiplayer interaction with both PvE and PvP mechanics. Players will face dynamic sandstorms, faction warfare, and, of course, colossal sandworms in a game that aims not just to adapt the Dune universe — but to define a new standard in survival MMOs.

While delays are never fun, this one feels like a strategic move to ensure the game’s launch hits the mark. A large-scale beta event is also planned for June, offering players one more chance to shape the experience before launch day.
