Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate Revealed in May
Bungie has announced that the next Destiny 2 expansion, The Edge of Fate, will be revealed on May 6. The event will start at 9:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET, giving fans their first look at what’s next.
The studio is changing things up for the future of Destiny 2. Starting with The Edge of Fate, players can expect two medium-sized expansions per year, along with four free content updates annually. Bungie is also exploring more experimental campaign structures, including non-linear progression and elements from other genres like Metroidvanias, roguelikes, and survival games.
As revealed in the roadmap, The Edge of Fate will introduce a non-linear story progression system. The game’s narrative will evolve based on the player’s actions, allowing them to choose which parts of the story to explore first. Bungie assures that the story will still flow seamlessly from beginning to end without time gating or waiting for future drops.
