Painkiller Reboot Showcases Devastating Arsenal in New Trailer

Seven Deadly Weapons, Elemental Upgrades, and Fast-Paced FPS Chaos Await

Painkiller Reboot Showcases Devastating Arsenal in New Trailer

The return of Painkiller is no longer a whisper — it’s a roar. The latest trailer for the upcoming reboot doesn’t waste time with subtlety. Instead, it delivers exactly what fans of old-school shooters crave: devastating weapons, unapologetic gore, and relentless speed.

At the heart of the reveal is Painkiller’s brutal weapon system, featuring seven core tools of destruction. Each weapon comes with both primary and alternate fire modes, offering flexibility and chaos in equal measure.

The confirmed arsenal includes:
  • Electrodriver – Fires ricocheting shurikens that electrify targets. Ideal for crowd control in tight corridors.

  • Stakegun – Launches high-impact stakes that pierce enemies and pin them to surfaces. It’s a callback to the classic with extra punch.

  • SMG – A rapid-fire submachine gun that shreds enemies up close. Great for pushing through aggressive waves.

  • Handcannon – Precision-focused, high-damage handgun with solid range. Perfect for controlled takedowns.

  • Shotgun – Devastating at close range, and with elemental variants, it becomes a tactical powerhouse.

  • Rocket Launcher – Heavy explosive weapon designed to eliminate groups and tougher foes. Big radius, big results.

  • Painkiller (Melee/Utility) – The signature weapon, now upgraded as a melee blender and a grappling hook. Use it to dismember enemies or zip across the battlefield.

What’s refreshing is how raw the gameplay looks. There are no cutscenes slowing things down — just constant movement, reactive combat, and satisfying feedback. The game isn’t trying to reinvent the genre. It’s doubling down on what made it great.

Story-wise, you play a damned soul offered redemption through destruction. Your mission? Stop the fallen angel Azazel from unleashing chaos on Earth. The campaign supports solo play and three-player online co-op, blending classic single-player pacing with modern multiplayer design.

Painkiller is set to release in Fall 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. With weapons like these, the wait already feels personal.
